Julie Raven-Smart is one of the original nine teachers that started Windsor High School with only freshmen in 1995. The majority of her career was spent creating the Windsor Jaguar Troupe of actors and technicians in the celebration of Theater Arts (click on sign for countdown to retirement).
Many of her students moved onto technical theater positions and acting in community theater in Sonoma County. And a few in professional careers in lighting design, acting and a talent agent. She also was Theater Coordinator for 18 years, and taught English, Speech, Microsoft Office, Photoshop and Introduction to Art in addition to Beginning Theater Arts, Advanced Acting and Theater Design.
This is her 3rd year of reduced workload at WHS returning to her first college degree Communication Arts: Film & Television Production from Loyola Marymount University doing an appreciation of film with emphasis on careers and behind the scenes in the film industry. Julie is also building a reputation for Set Design and Scenic Painting with the Raven Players at The Raven Performing Arts Center in Healdsburg, California (As You Like It, Young Frankenstein, the musical, Vanya, Sonia, Masha, & Spike, Time Stands Still, Church and State, Mid Summer Night's Dream and Lost in Yonkers, Set & Lighting Design on The Wolves)
